Mission Statement: Long Beach Rescue Mission is a place of healing and hope serving the greater Long Beach Community by improving the quality of life of the hurting and homeless through loving and equipping them to be reconciled: to God, to self, to family, & to society.
Dinner Preparation and Service
Day and time: Monday Nights 5-7:45

~Every Monday from 5:00–7:30 P.M. We will be preparing the kitchen and dinning room for the Rescue Mission guests to eat dinner. Volunteers will be working along side mission guests and New Life participants to prepare and serve dinner. Mission guests range from dinner guests, one night bed guest, all the way to their New Life program participants, which is a one year commitment where men that have been living on the streets may join after prayer and consideration by the chaplains. We will be working with other volunteers from the area and serving dinner to up to 200+ people.
~Other opportunities are available such as office work, special events, chapel, etc.

Precious Lamb
Mission Statement: At Precious Lamb Preschool, our mission is to serve children and families suffering homelessness through free, Christ-centered education and care.
Classroom Assistance and Parent Education Teaching/Childcare

~Weekdays from 8:30 to 3:30 P.M. depending on availability and need.
Commit one morning/afternoon a week for a few hours to play and engage with preschool aged children who are living in shelters or transitional programs in Long Beach due to extreme family situations. (We encourage semester commitments from volunteers who are interested in this ministry to maintain consistency for the children in the program)
~Other opportunities include helping with Parent Education Classes, teaching and/or assisting with childcare. Classes typically run about 2 hours in length. Dates and times TBA.

~Mentoring: Mondays 6:30-7:30
A school year long commitment is required to mentor students on Monday nights. Students will be guided through homework or an educational game while having the opportunity to establish a stronger relationship and trust with you.
~Tutoring: Monday through Friday 2:30- 7:30
Work with different children providing assistance with homework and other school needs, such as reading, math, science, etc., as well as engaging children in games and other activities.
~Other volunteer opportunities:
