worship

worshipThe ultimate purpose of the Church is to worship the One who called it into being. what does worship look like? It’s recognizing and declaring God’s holiness and our utter dependence on Him. It’s giving God what He deserves: our attention, our recognition, our hearts and minds, and our response.

As we come together to seek God through His word and through prayer, He reveals Himself to us. and when we see God for who He is, we can’t help but respond. both individually and in community, we respond in a number of ways—each different than the other, but all in humble worship of the One for whom we exist.

On most weekends, you’ll experience a lot of music at The Garden celebration. It’s how we usually begin our celebration together, to focus our minds and hearts on who we have gathered to celebrate. Music is also one of the ways we respond to God after studying His word together and asking the Holy Spirit to show us how He wants to change our lives through what we’ve heard.

More than mere music, songs of worship are prayers of thanks, awe, need, and devotion that prepare our hearts to be changed.
